Do you believe in miracles?
If you don’t then skip watching tonight’s game between Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Catalonian team is facing one of the toughest challenges in the club’s history, because they have a four-goal deficit from the first match of the Round of 16, of this year’s Champions League edition.
The question of all questions.
Is Barcelona capable of making one of the greatest comebacks in football history?
If some other club came out to face Paris Saint-Germain tonight this task would be impossible.
There is one thing, dough.
Barcelona doesn’t know the meaning of the word impossible. Especially when they are playing at Camp Nou, and when you have a fantastic trio up front, Messi Suarez and Neymar, you just have to believe.
Otherwise, you wouldn’t be a Barca fan, nor a football one.
Although they were crushed to pieces in Paris, Blaugrana players are optimistic, especially after the last game against Celta.
Their final test before tonight’s game ended in superb style. They won 5-0.
Coach Luis Enrique told that surely at one point of the game, a chance for a miracle will appear and his players need to react quickly and grab it.
“I’ve been convinced for a couple of weeks that there will be a stage in the game where we will be close to achieving what we need. If a team can score four against us then we can score six against them. The result in the first leg was very clear but this is a knockout tie and we’re only at half-time.” Enrique said.
” Over 95 minutes, an infinite number of things can happen. Hopefully, they will all be positive for us.”
Barcelona’s midfielder Ivan Rakitic told one short sentence during yesterday’s interview, that indicates what the rest of the team thinks.
”I believe we can make miracles happen.”
In this year’s Champions League, Barcelona had three huge wins at Camp Nou.
Against Celtic 7-0, and against Borussia Monchengladbach and Manchester City, 4-0 both of them. That gives them right to hope, because, 90 minutes is enough for Blaugrana to do demolish any team in the world.
Why not PSG?
On the other hand, the Parisiennes will try to eliminate Barcelona for the first time in their third clash and finally prove that rich sheiks from Qatar didn’t spend their money for anything.
But before that, their defense will have to resist to high pressure from Barcelona players and the fans.
Paris Saint-Germain coach Unai Emery, said yesterday that his team will pay no attention to the result from the previous game.
“I have the same confidence in my team as before the first leg and the same respect for Barcelona. Our only thought is to play the way we did in the first leg, without thinking about the result. There is a pressure of course. Tomorrow, what will be different is that Barça will have the fans behind them. We need to keep to our usual philosophy.” ex-Seville coach said at the press conference.
We are anxious for the game to start, and we do believe in miracles, but is there a room for one at this game?
We will see that tonight.
