NBA Trade News: Porzingis Heading For Boston?

Feb 26, 2016; New York, NY, USA; New York Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis (6) slam dunks the ball against the Orlando Magic during the second half at Madison Square Garden. The Knicks defeated the Magic 108-95.

Two nights before the NBA draft things are getting turbulent in the best basketball league in the world, and we have seen several trades which are announcing a shifting of powers between the NBA teams.

The upcoming selection of young talent is affecting most of the teams. They have to react even before the draft, and this is just an indication of one hot summer in the American basketball.

Phil Jackson is considering the option of trading Kristaps Porzingis. Several media stated that Latvian player and the management of the Knicks are not getting along well and that this is the main reason for such an action. Boston Celtics are the number one team in combination for the potential landing place of Porzingis. Boston has the third pick in the draft, and if this deal goes trough, Knicks will pick Lauri Markkanen who has the same style of play like the unsettled Latvian.

Also, one of the most important news is that Dwight Howard was traded to Charlotte Hornets. The Atlanta Hawks decided to trade one of the physically most dominant centers in the NBA along with the 31st pick in this year’s draft. In return, the Hawks will receive Miles Plumley, Marco Belinelli, and 41st pick. This is something unexpected, but it seems that Michael Jordan took the advice from Steve Clifford who was one of the key persons in Dwight Howard’s fantastic start of the career.

The two of them worked together in Orlando, and Steve Clifford was the assistant coach who was in charge of developing, at that time, the young center.
“I’m excited about working with Dwight again,” Clifford said. “He brings a defensive mindset, shot-blocking ability and a level of physicality that will be a huge asset for us. We look forward to him continuing his career here in Charlotte.”

Atlanta the other hand managed to get rid of a high contract that Howard has.

Meanwhile, on the Pacific coast, the Los Angeles Lakers were active during the last night. D’Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov were traded for Brook Lopez. One of the most talented point guards in the whole league will be joining the Brooklyn Nets. Lakers are going to chose Lonzo Ball as the second pick, which means that Russell would have limited minutes.
Also, Magic Johnson who is in charge of the Lakers trading activities tried to swap picks with Sacramento Kings. They offered their 2nd pick for the 5th and 10th owned by the Kings. Eventually, general manager of Sacramento Vlade Divac refused such a trade.

In the meantime, Paul George is much closer to the Los Angeles, because the two management started negotiating about this trade.

Chicago is awe that Jimmy Butler is at the exit doors.
This is why the Bulls are trying to sign the best player outside the NBA, the Serbian playmaker, Milos Teodosic. For now, the Teodosic did not want to respond to any speculations, but the rumor is that the Bulls offered him a three-year deal worth 40 million dollars.

Trades are heating up in the NBA.
