Ronald Koeman is having hard times at Everton’s bench. The former Dutch player and manager of the club from Goodison Park will probably leave the club after today’s humiliating loss against Arsenal.

The Toffees were smashed at home against Arsene Wenger’s boys, 2-5, despite having the lead and netting first.

The opening goal was scored by Wayne Rooney in the 12th minute of the game. Before this shocking turn of events Arsenal had several good chances, but unfortunately for them, the strikers were either slow to react, or Jonathan Pickford had excellent saves.

In the 40th minutes of the game, Nacho Monreal run onto one deflected ball after Granit Xhaka had a beautiful shot from outside the box. That equalizer was fully deserved because the guests were better in that phase of the clash.

And when everybody had an opinion that this game is going to slow down, we have seen some magnificent goals at Goodison Park.

After eight minutes since the start of the second 45 minutes, Mesut Ozil scored his first goal of the season. The German has shown his talent and proved that he is the crucial player of this assembly.

“He was superb. Agile, quick, intelligent – always at the service of the team with the quality of his passing,” declared Wenger post-game.
“When he is at that level he is an exceptional football player.”

From that moment everything collapsed for the hosts and in the 68th minute of the game Idrissa Gueye received the second yellow card which automatically meant for him that he needs to leave the pitch.

6 minutes after that incident Mesut Ozil recorded an assist, and Alexandre Lacazette scored for 3-1.

In the last moments of this match, a show of goals was seen on the field.
During the last minute of the regular time, Aaron Ramsey scored, and just one minute later Everton decreased the lead when Niasse used the lack of communication between Monreal and Petr Cech.

But that was not all, because Alexis Sanchez netted once more, in the 5th minute of the injury time.

By far this was the best performance of the Gunners since the start of this season, and they are currently on the 5th place in English Premier League having 16 points, the same as Chelsea. Meanwhile, Everton has 8 points, and the Toffees are the first club in the relegation zone. We are sure that nobody could predict this before the start of the competition.

The fans see Ronald Koeman as the main man to blame for such a disastrous results. For quite some time Koeman is under tremendous pressure from both the fans and management of Everton, but it seems that he just cannot handle the current situation.

When he was asked by journalists after the match to comment his current situation and the possibility of being fired, former Barcelona player said that he doesn’t know anything.

“I don’t know,” Koeman said to the broadcaster of Sky Sports, “I told the players I believe in them, the commitment of the players. But if you are negative thinking, and everybody is doing that in this moment, all these kinds of decisions are not in my hands.”

We will see the outcome in of this story in the next few days.
