The United States Formula One Grand Prix takes place on 22 October 2017.

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton is on the brink of clinching his fourth Formula 1 title, after winning the Grand Prix of the United States held in Austin, Texas.

Hamilton recorded his 62nd victory in career, 9th in this season. His 5th win in Austin was finished in one hour 33 minutes and 50 seconds.

“I feel amazing. Look at this crowd. These guys have been amazing. Since 2012 the crowd has been growing year on year. I think this track is now my favourite track.
“A big congratulations to the team. They work so hard back at the factory and here.” Hamilton said at the post-race conference.
“I feel great. It is a dream job. Many people would love to drive an F1 car and I can tell you it is the best experience in the world.”

Vettel came in second, and the German admitted after the event that Mercedes is simply quicker.

Vettel said:
“At the start, it was looking good, we got past Lewis, but we had to realize we couldn’t go at his pace.
“We were then in no-man’s land and were not quite sure what to do. We decided to pit again, with a fresh set of tyres and it was a bit more exciting, but overall it was not the result we needed.”

“They were quicker than us and we have to admit that.”

Kimi Raikkonen third, Max Verstappen fourth although he passed Kimi on the last lap of the race. But during that situation, he was outside the track with all four wheels. Yet again, the young Dutchman still brings some controversy to the elite racing caravan, because he received 5 seconds penalty, and eventually fall one position down.

“Obviously I was disappointed just after the race when I finished fourth, but there was some issue with Max. It was a great race. My car was very good all the way. I just had to fuel-save a bit at the end.”

Valtteri Bottas from Mercedes was fifth, Force India’s Sebastian Ocon sixth, and Carlos Sainz seventh.

The Brit has 66 points advantage over Sebastian Vettel his main competition for the throne, and it seems that in this situation, another title is inevitable for him.

To secure his success even theoretically, Hamilton needs to be in the fifth place if Vettel triumphs.Overall, just 9 points are required for him to be the champion. It would take a miracle to happen not to win the championship. But, because of those reasons, we will continue the following of Formula 1 caravan.

And he will have a chance to do it already next week, to be exact this Sunday, in Mexico. Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez will be the venue of another clash in F1, and possibly the place where Nico Rosberg is not going to be the ruler of this sport anymore.
