Lewis Hamilton clinched the Chinese Grand Prix and grabbed the first win of this season. The British driver was confident from start until the end of the race.

There is no doubt Formula 1 will be much thrilling this season and that championship will be more interesting than the previous ones.

Lewis Hamilton finished the race with a time of 1:37:36.158. On the second place was Sebastian Vettel who was six seconds slower that the British driver, while Max Verstappen was fantastic and finished on the third place, although he started from the 16th place.

Both Hamilton and Vettel have one win, and one second place in first two races and they are together on top of the driver’s standings.
This race was very interesting, unlike previous in China, and besides the amazing display by young Verstappen, the situation that marked this event was Antonio Giovinazzi’s crash after which safety car appeared on the track and for a brief moment, the race was interrupted.

This pretty much affected the race and in the end helped Hamilton to secure today’s victory.

Red Bull drivers blocked Ferrari’s duo, after the flying start in the 7th lap, allowing Hamilton to be alone in front and have the open road without any pressure from behind.

” I think this will be one of the closest championships] if not the closest I have experienced. Ferrari have done a great job and it is great that we are both pushing. Today was very tough for us all.”

Sebastian Vettel was excellent and he had several passings, from which, we have to separate the one when he took over the third place from Daniel Ricciardo. It was truly beautiful.

”I was stuck on the train for a little while but then tried to chase down Lewis Hamilton. It was a good match. It was good fun. My target was to catch Lewis, I was getting angry behind the train, I felt I could go faster in these conditions so I felt I had to try it on Daniel Ricciardo. On the exit I was a bit compromised, I had my elbows out, he really squeezed me, but good fun.”

Max Verstappen was astonishing today and he got out the maximum from the situation with the safety car and he managed to climb 13 places up when comparing to his start. The young driver showed that he has to be counted on this year, in any plans for podium spots.

” It was a very challenging race but I really enjoyed it. I think I overtook nine cars on the opening lap so it was a very good race for me! I didn’t have a lot of track time this weekend because didn’t do much in qualifying so I wasn’t expecting to finish on the podium having started in 16th. I was getting a little frustrated at the end as I wanted clear air to try and push harder but in the end, I still finished on the podium so I can’t complain.”

The championship continues in just 7 days, when the Grand Prize of Bahrain starts.

No time to rest for both the drivers and the fans,
